Bio

Christopher Maurice Brown was born on May 5, 1989, in Tappahannock, Virginia. A self-taught singer and dancer from an early age, he often found artistic inspiration in Michael Jackson. He announced his arrival on the music scene by topping the Billboard Hot 100 with his debut single "Run It!", becoming the first male artist since 1995 to accomplish that feat.

His fourth studio album, F.A.M.E., arrived in 2011 and gave the singer his very first number-one album on the Billboard 200. In 2019, Brown found continued commercial triumph with his ninth album, Indigo, which debuted at number one and spawned the record-breaking hit single "No Guidance". His creative momentum continued with the deluxe edition of his 11:11 album, which took home the Grammy Award for Best R&B Album in 2025.

Brown has achieved tremendous global popularity throughout his career, selling over 140 million records worldwide to stand among the best-selling music artists of all time. His remarkable vocal talents and stage showmanship have consistently earned favorable comparisons to those of Michael Jackson. Beyond his musical accomplishments, he broadened his horizons as an entertainer by making his feature film debut in Stomp the Yard and appearing in This Christmas.
