Bio

Born in Oakland, California, American singer, songwriter, and dancer Kehlani Ashley Parrish first gained notice in 2011 as a contestant on America's Got Talent with the teen group PopLyfe. After departing the group, they independently released the mixtapes Cloud 19 and You Should Be Here, earning critical acclaim and gold certifications from the RIAA. You Should Be Here also marked their debut entry on the US Billboard 200 and earned a Grammy nomination for Best Urban Contemporary Album.

Kehlani subsequently signed with Atlantic Records and made an impressive studio debut with SweetSexySavage in 2017, reaching number three on the Billboard 200. Their momentum continued with their second studio album, It Was Good Until It Wasn't, which peaked at number two in 2020. They went on to achieve critical acclaim with their third album, Blue Water Road, before releasing their fourth studio album, Crash, in 2024.

Ahead of their eponymous fifth album Kehlani, they released the 2025 single Folded, which rose to number six on the Billboard Hot 100. The successful track earned them top honors at the 68th Annual Grammy Awards, winning Best R&B Performance and Best R&B Song.
