New Music Friday March 7th, 2025

Once again, it's our favorite day of the week: Friday. Not only does it mark the beginning of the weekend, but it also gives us new music to enjoy over those two days. Let's take a look at what music was released today:

1) Iyla - Wild

As a fan, I'm hoping that she's building up to another project release soon. This is the second single she's released in this short year so far. Also, apparently, for the cover art of this song, she used an actual moth. All I have to say is good on you, 'cause I would never.

2) Jaylon Ashaun, Jiselle, Jesse Leprotti - You & I

I've only become familiar with Jaylon Ashaun as of late from his song 5 Minutes featuring S¡MONE. Looking through his catalog, he's been consistent with releases circa 2018.

3) Sabrina Claudio - Need U To Need Me

There's not much to be said about Sabrina Claudio at this point. With her first release of the year, she's providing a more sensual sound in this outing. The song is a different vibe than her popular hit Belong to You or Like Her Too.

4) Ginette Claudette - Nice & Quiet

Since her On To Something album in 2018, I've been a fan. Admittedly, I've missed a few of her recent releases, but I'm glad I caught this one. If you're unfamiliar with her music, this song is a good representation of her.

5) Jessie Reyez - PSILOCYBIN & DIASIES

Jessie's lastest outing is slightly different from her previous singles, such as GOLIATH and JUST LIKE THAT. This song has more of a rock feel than a traditional R&B song. I appreciate when artists show their range to show they have more than one style that they stick to.

6) Elijah Solace, 143 - Apologize

143 and new comer Elijah Solace delivered with this one. For those who grew up in the 90s, you may hear familiar strings from Jon B's They Don't Know at the beginning of this track. They did this song justice, and it should be playlist-worthy.

7) Samaria - Replay This

Definitely not you're traditional R&B song, but it has a strong pop-style vibe. It hits on a message of how love can make you feel or, in some cases, go crazy.

8) Kibra - One Life (from Trapped in the Spotlight)

It's hard to keep up with the influx of artists delivering good music. Kibra, is an artist from Toronto that I stumbled upon during one my Spotify rabbithole moments. This song is short but sweet allowing her to showcase her vocals.
