Syd has announced her third solo album, Beard, and paired the reveal with a new single called 'Callin.' According to Rated R&B and NME, the project is set for release on July 17 via Free Lunch/Warner Records.

The 12-track album is co-produced by Syd and features contributions from Raphael Saadiq, Rodney Jerkins, James Fauntleroy, Big Sean, Van Hunt, Jordan Ward, and Blu June. 'Callin' features Blu June and serves as the first clear taste of the record's warm, polished direction.

In comments quoted by Rated R&B, Syd described Beard as a 'snapshot' of her life right now and tied the title to reclaiming insecurities and embracing the 'bearded lady' idea as a metaphor for being an outlier. NME likewise framed the album as a coming-of-age project.

The rollout adds another chapter to Syd's solo run beyond The Internet, and it gives listeners a new set of songs to mark on the calendar as summer builds.
